Joined the Company as Chief Investment Officer
in 2007; Appointed Chief Executive 2008.
Katherine Garrett-Cox graduated with a BA
(Hons) in History from Durham University and
is a member of the UK Society of Investment
Professionals; CFA Institute. She was nominated
a Young Global Leader of the World Economic
Forum in October 2005, is a Trustee of the
Baring Foundation and sits on the Board of
Fellows of the Thunderbird School of Global
Management, Arizona. She is a Founder
Member of the Advisory Council of TheCityUK.
In her role she is responsible for both the
investment policy and asset allocation of the
company as well as executive oversight for
the business. She has more than 21 years'
experience in the investment industry, having
managed North American, Emerging Market
and Global Equities portfolios.
She was Chief Investment Officer and Executive
Director of Morley Fund Management, the
fund management division of Aviva where she
was responsible for more than £160bn invested
in equities, fixed income, private equity and
alternatives. Prior to that, Katherine was Chief
Investment Officer and Executive Director of
Aberdeen Asset Management PLC. She began
her career as a Portfolio Manager at Hill Samuel
Asset Management, where she was Investment
Director, Head of American Equities, managing
a range of retail and institutional mandates in
excess of $5.5bn. She is a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank AG.
